Tonight is The Little Mermaid. The. Little. Mermaid. The inspiration behind every little girl’s “mermaid stroke” in the swimming pool. The girl who made red hair cool. The one who taught us hoarding is OK (as long as it’s a whatchamacallit).



Don’t act like you didn’t pretend to be a mermaid…


Then again, there is always that one friend that just doesn’t want to play along… Lame-O.

In honor of the radiant red-head with no legs, we’re focusing on our…abs. Leg lifts and butt lifts; here we go —

Leg Lifts: Lie down with your back flat on the floor and your arms by your side, palms facing down. Start with your legs in the air at a 90-degree angle. Lower your legs as far as you can without your back arching off of the ground. (If you can’t lower them very far, that’s OK). Lift your legs back up using your lower ab muscles. Your feet should stay together the whole time. Don’t forget to breathe!

Butt Lifts: Start in the same position as the leg lift. Using your lower ab muscles, lift your butt off the ground to force your legs towards the ceiling. Keep your legs together and your core tight.
