I just internally debated the title of this blog post for WAY too long. . .

Do I say coke? No, because people will automatically assume… ugh, dumbasses. I can’t just say Diet Coke. Not everyone drinks Diet Coke. Soda? Who says soda? Pop? No, Mattie…this is Texas. Ok, screw it. I’m saying soda.

I can’t remember the last time I actually sat down and drank a full can of soda. It’s just not something I crave anymore. The only time I really ever drink it is at the movies; but ONLY because The Boyfriend insists on ordering a large Coke every. single. time. Someone’s gotta help him drink it, right? 😉

After giving up Diet Dr. Peppers three years ago, I can honestly say it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done. I tasted one the other day, and spit it right back out. Wtf was I thinking back then? They taste terrible!

I know exactly what I was thinking. And it’s probably the exact same thing you’re thinking if you’re addicted to soda like I was — It’s caffeine! And it has no calories! And I love the fizziness! Party!

No. It’s terrible. And it makes you feel like crap without you even realizing it.

Those random headaches and body aches you get? You can thank diet sodas for that. Feeling like you’re going to pass out from exhaustion? That’s the Coke talkin’, sister.

Give it up, and I 100% guarantee you will feel better. Just ask my client who hasn’t had a Diet Coke in like 2 weeks! (So proud of you, by the way.)

Thanks to Little Sister, who introduced me to this magic potion, I will never drink another soft drink. Ever again. (Besides the occasional movie date.)

Perrier | Fit is Chic

Perrier, people. God’s gift to healthy soda lovers. Natural mineral water…no crazy ingredients, just the best sparkling water you’ll ever have. Our fridge stays fully stocked with this stuff at all times (especially the lime flavor).

You can buy it in cans, plastic bottles, or glass bottles; but do yourself a favor, and buy the glass bottles. It tastes a million times better.

The carbonation + the lime flavor make it the perfect soft-drink substitution. Plus, you’ll feel fancy/European drinking out of a glass bottle. Double win!

You can find Perrier pretty much anywhere. You’ll find it in the grocery store where the regular water bottles are located.

So have I convinced you to give up soda yet? Remember, it only takes 21 days to make or break a habit. You can do it!

Stay fit, friends! Xo

Love, Mattie Claire
